My First Week of School

Last week was my first week at school (well, Mommy and Daddy call it daycare, but I'm learning so much, I'm calling it school). It's a bit scary each morning, so I make Mommy or Daddy stay with me until I get used to the chaos, then they "sneak" out of the room (I let them think that I don't see them, it makes them feel appreciated).

Below you'll find some pictures that Dad has taken in the mornings. Next week, it's all Daddy dropping me off as Mommy is going to be going to work before I wake up. I'll miss her, but she'll pick me up in the afternoons, which will be nice.

All Things New

Over the summer I've discovered a few new tricks as ways to get what I want. Mommy's been teaching me some baby signs so now I can let her know when I'm hungry or when I want more of something. I also have a sign for Cisco and for duck. Mommy and Daddy think signing is a great alternative to screaming. (Don't tell them but I enjoy the screaming since it makes them move faster.)

I've been working on my walking and dance moves, my latest dance moves are hip wiggles and turning circles until I get dizzy and fall to the ground. I'm pretty good at walking except sometimes walls and corners jump out at me. I don't like that too much. Mommy says if I keep it up I'm going to have to wear a helmet, I hope she's joking.

Monday morning I start school. I think I'm excited to hang out with a whole new group of friends. Mommy is a bit apprehensive but feels like it will be good for me to socialize with kids my own age. Mommy and I went to visit and play with the kids the other day and were a bit overwhelmed at how well they all played and how coordinated some of the kids are.

School of Hard Knocks

Today was a rather dreary day here in Seattle and so for some afternoon excitement Mommy and Daddy took me to the indoor playground at the mall. I guess a lot of other parents had the same idea because the playground was busy!

Needless to say I got a quick lesson in playground etiquette which is the bigger or faster kid has the right away. I got my first bump on the head when I was plowed down but another little boy on the playground. Daddy was "lucky" enough to catch it on video. This video is not for the lighthearted so prepare yourself for some hard hitting action before viewing.

I did enjoy the playground and my battle scar isn't too bad, and of course I now have a healthy respect for bigger and faster kids.
