2 month checkup

Yesterday was my 2 month checkup visit to the doctor. Mommy and Daddy didn't tell me it also meant that I was going to be getting some vaccines.

First of all for those of you who are keeping track here are my new stats: I am now 23" tall and I am weighing in at 12lbs 9 oz and my head is 15 3/4 inches. I am basically in the 50% percentile compared to other kids my age. The doctor says I'm well on my way to being Daddy's height of 5'9".

Before they gave me the vaccines the doctor gave me a dose of Tylenol, it was a yummy grape flavor, I guess I should have suspected something bad was about to happen since they were giving me my first taste of sweet stuff. I was given the Rotavirus vaccine, the Hib vaccine, the Pnemococcal vaccine and a Pediarix vaccine. One was oral and the rest were by shot. I was not very happy afterwards but at least the nurse was fast and Mommy and Daddy were standing ready to comfort me when it was over.

I'm glad I don't have to go back there until October for my 4 month checkup.

My friend Quincy and Mommy and Daddy's anniversary

Today my friend Quincy (5.5 months) and his mom Stephanie came over to my house to hang out with me and Mommy. Quincy was trying to show me how to roll over but I think I need a bit more practice before I can do it on my own. The four of us went for a walk to Safeway for a Jamba Juice. Us guys went to sleep while the Mommies gabbed about baby stuff.

Yesterday was Mommy and Daddy's anniversary, they left me with G, Papa Boogs and Aunt Loren while they went out for a fancy dinner at the Metropolitan Grill in Seattle. Mommy said it was nice to not have to rush through a meal for a change.

My First Passport Application!

The pictures Dad originally took of me for my passport photo didn't ending up working out, so Mom and Dad put me through another portrait session. Sixty-some photos later, Dad figured he had at least one good one. Apparently, he had just one good one, I guess I'm a difficult subject.

Dad found this cool website that makes passport photos automatically from normal photos (http://www.epassportphoto.com/), we went to Costco to have them printed, then off to the passport office to apply for my first baby passport! Whew, busy day!

On the Ferry, and over the Sound...

Yesterday I took my first ferry boat ride. I went to visit Grammy and Grandpa Olson at their house on Bainbridge Island. It was a really long ride in the car and big brother Cisco and I were not very happy to be in our carseats for such a long time.

We had a nice visit with Grammy,Grandpa and Daddy's old International School friend who now lives in Japan. Grammy made Mommy and Daddy's favorite Vietnamese dish, Bún bò. They didn't save any for me but I paid them back by making everyone eat in shifts.

I was so tired from the long trip that I slept for almost 9 hours straight! Mommy was happy but also worried when I didn't wake her up for my middle of the night feeding.

Today Mommy and Daddy worked on getting a photo of me for my passport. Boy did I give them a hard time! Apparently this photo has to be of me with my eyes open and nothing in the background, I tried to tell them I'm only 7 weeks old and not a professional baby model. After a ton of photos Daddy thinks he finally got an acceptable shot. I'm glad I won't have to go through that again for another 5 years.

6 weeks already

Wow, tomorrow is my 6 week birthday. Mommy said I don't get a party just yet but I do get to go to the TE company picnic and hang out with Daddy, G and Papa Boogs friends and coworkers. Isn't it weird that they all work together? I wonder if they put something in the water there...

Mommy can confidently say that I've reached my first milestone now - I've started smiling! She and Daddy love my little toothless grin. She tried to catch it on camera but I'm to quick for her digital photography skills. So her pictures look like more smirks than smiles.

This week the Olson clan made plans to go to France in October. So I have my first international trip booked and am ready to start my jet-setting lifestyle. I decided that we have to first make a stop in Italy to see Aunt Tracy before she returns to the States, so we fly into Venice and will spend time in Italy before joining the Olsons in southern France and finally we will spend a few days in Paris before flying back home.

I hope there isn't too much of a language barrier for me; I'm just learning English! Salut and Ciao!

My first playgroup

Today I took Mommy to my first playgroup meeting. We sat next to twin 8 week old boys; Mommy told me how much she loved me but couldn't handle two of me. I also met a nice little 9 week old girl who I think was flirting with me; at least she kept smiling at me, look I'm already attracting older women.

Mommy decided that the playgroup is going to be a nice weekly outing for us since I can cry, poop and spit up all I want and no one cares. This week they gave us a lesson on baby carriers like Mommy's moby wrap and mai tai carrier. I slept through most of the lesson but Mommy said she took good notes for which types of carriers to purchase when I get bigger and can't fit in the ones we currently have.

Cisco and I

Mommy caught a great picture of (big brother) Cisco and I today.

I would stick around and post some more but it's my bedtime now, Mommy and Daddy are trying to get me on something called a schedule, sorry, got to go!

Mommy and Daddy go on a date

The family has all returned to their homes and this week we were able to get into more of a quiet routine. I'm starting to sleep for 5 hour stretches at night and am taking good 2 hour naps during the day (only after I'm well fed of course).

Saturday I spent the day with G while Mommy and Daddy went on a date. They went to lunch and to the movie "WALL E". Mommy said all she and Daddy did was talk about me and wonder what I was doing. I guess I make quite an impression on people. G and I had lots of fun and even Aunt Loren spent some time with me before Mommy and Daddy came to pick me up.

Sunday I was able to visit with Grammy and Grandpa Olson. I took them to my favorite Pho restaurant. I think they enjoyed it but not as much as Mommy and Daddy (Daddy would eat there everyday if Mommy let him).

Mommy hasn't taken pictures of me this week so I don't have a new one to post but wanted to update my fans on what is going on with my life. I'll encourage her to take some this week for my next post.

This week Mommy and I are planning to attend our first playgroup. I hope I make some new friends!

We've been waiting 8 years for this day to arrive!

Thursday was the big day we've all been waiting for - G and Papa Boogs finally said "I Do." I was a good boy and slept through all the pictures but wanted to have a part in the ceremony so I voiced, I mean cried, my opinion (since I wasn't asked to be ring bearer).

Mommy and Daddy basically left me in the care of everyone else at the wedding (see photo of me being held by Great Aunt Peewee) since there was always an open pair of arms begging for my company. Daddy spent the wedding taking pictures and Mommy tried to dance off her remaining baby weight. I had my first dance too! Uncle Bubba and Aunt Peewee invited me to join them in a slow dance, it was really romantic.

Friday was my first 4th of July celebration. We spent the afternoon and my new Uncle Tim and Aunt Mary's house. We got to spend time with the remaining Wyatt crew and get to know the Litkas even more. Uncle Tim and Aunt Mary have a big back yard I can't wait until I'm bigger and can explore the woods behind their house. I've had such a busy week that I couldn't stay up for the fireworks but did see a few when we got back home.

In Seattle fish can fly!

I've had such a busy week it is hard to figure out where to start!

On Tuesday Mommy and I joined the whole Louisiana gang on a trip to Pike Place Market. Mommy and Aunt Tracy carried me around in my Baby Bjorn carrier. We saw the men throwing fish, Mommy got to enjoy her Beecher's mac and cheese and Aunt Tracy finally got her Starbucks fix.

Wednesday brought more family filled fun. G and Papa Boogs had their rehearsal dinner at their house. This was a great time to introduce the Litkas to yummy southern food like Boudin and Gumbo. Once again I didn't get to taste any of the food and was stuck with my forumla. Mommy and Daddy treated G and Papa Boogs to a musical montage of pictures; G and Maw Maw Pearl were brought to tears.
