Merry Christmas!

I know it's taken me a while to write this update but I've just been really busy playing with my toys and enjoying the last of my vacation time. Santa Claus and my family were really good to me this year. I received so many toys, book and clothing that I think Mommy and Daddy are going to have to build on an extra room to our house to fit it all! Either I was really good this year or I'm the only grandchild and nephew in the family.

Christmas Eve Mommy and Daddy cooked up a traditional Christmas gumbo for everyone to enjoy, we had a lot of people over to our house, G, Boogs, Uncle Josh, Charlotte, Aunt Loren, Grammy, Grandpa, and Uncle Darren. It was so full in our house that we ate in shifts!

On Christmas morning I woke up to find everyone back at our house to watch me open my Santa gifts and to enjoy some Welsh Rarebit made by Grammy. It is the traditional Olson Christmas morning breakfast which we were able to share this year with more of our family. Leave it to Daddy's side of the family to come up with a breakfast of cheese sauce!

From Santa I recieved a big boy potty, a keyboard, a bowling set and some bubbles for my bath and other stocking toys. From family I got a lot of puzzles this year and some neat Melissa and Doug brand toys, some Thomas the Train Engines and a Little People farm and school bus. Like I said I made out really well this year!

Christmas Day we also were lucky enough to celebrate the day with the Litka family over at G and Boogs house. G said around 27 people were joining us for dinner, can you imagine! It was fun but we were really tired so after dinner came home to relax in our once again quiet house.

The day after Christmas we went back over to G and Boogs for another gift giving celebration and another meal. This time we were allowed to stay in our pajamas and ate Uncle Richard's style Mexican Breakfast.

I feel very fortunate to be loved so much in my family and am grateful for all the time that we were able to spend with everyone this year. I hope you have a wonderful start to 2010!

Wyatt and Jewell Family Christmas

This weekend we celebrated Christmas with the Wyatt family in Louisiana and with Paw Paw Jewell and Kathy from Oregon. I bet you're wondering how we were in two places at once?!

We couldn't make it to Lafayette this year, so we did the next best thing and used Skype to sing carols and open presents with the family. It was nice to see everyone there but it certainly wasn't the same as being there in person. Mommy and Daddy agree we're going to Louisiana next Christmas no matter what. I got some awesome Saints shirts, a super cool puzzle, some books and a color desk that plays music while I color and to the speed I color. I must have been a good boy this year.

Paw Paw and Kathy came into town to spend the weekend with us and Uncle Josh. Mommy cooked all weekend and we had Pre-Christmas feast on Sunday, The Olsons even decided to join us for the event. Mommy certainly has become a good cook since I came along; too bad I only eat oatmeal and yogurt. Paw Paw and Kathy gave me a neat truck that chases me around the house and talks when I push the buttons. Of course they also gave me lots of Duck gear to wear for the Rose Bowl. Kathy has converted Paw Paw into an avid Duck fan.

Mommy is preparing herself to cook the traditional Christmas Eve gumbo in a few days and has cooked lots of yummy cookies and treats that I get to enjoy because I'm so cute; or at least that's what she tells me. I'm looking forward to getting presents from Santa and hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

The Return of Santa Claws

Today Mommy and Daddy took me to Molbak's in Woodinville to take my annual photo with the so called "Santa Claws". I'm not sure why I have to take a picture with the very scary man every year around this time. He sits on a bench and people actually wait in line to be scared by him; adults, kids and even dogs!

I decided this year I'd had enough and tried to fight him off and make a run for it but Mommy insisted I had to take a photo with Santa. Some photo she got! I was told that Santa might still bring me some gifts since I've mostly behaved myself this year. I don't know if he understood what I wanted since only Mommy and Daddy really understand what my grunts and signs mean. I can clearly say the words bubble and Cisco now but that's about it for my limited vocabulary. I find pointing and screaming most effective.

Sorry I haven't done much blog posting lately. I've been out of the game with a really bad ear infection and Mommy and Daddy haven't allowed me much computer time. I might have to get ear tubes put in to help with the ear infections but we won't find out until later this month.

I hope everyone is having a happy holiday season. I guess my next post will probably be about the Wyatt Family Christmas which unfortunately I will only be attending via Skype because of something called the economy, it must be friends with that bad man Santa Claws.

Trick or Treat!

So did you know if you knock on someone's door and your daddy says "Trick or Treat" they give you candy? I didn't know this either but now I know the secret to getting candy anytime I want it! I like this Halloween stuff, does it happen often? Parties at school, running around the neighborhood when I usually am sleeping; what more could you ask for?!

On Halloween Daddy and I put on our Seahawks jeresy and pretended to be Matt Hasslebeck and Patrick Kerney. We went around the neighborhood with my pumpkin bucket and collected some good candy that Mommy and Daddy let me have a bit of. I really like candy!

We've had a bit of excitement in our house lately; we just had both of our bathrooms remodeled. Mommy and Daddy are really happy. Mommy's happy with the new pretty bathrooms, and Daddy's happy that Mommy's happy. I like the new tub and shower too but I especially like all the new doors I can play with. Photos: click here

Goin' to the Big "D"

Just got back from a nice quick visit at Uncle Shane and Aunt Wendi's house in Dallas. Mom played hookie from work and we left Wednesday night and stayed until Sunday.

I got to hang out with my super cool older cousin Blane. I loved imitating him and following him around. Mommy and Daddy got to meet Blane's new baby bro and my other new cousin Wayne. He's so tiny! I didn't care if Daddy held the baby but it really bothered me when Mommy held him, she's mine!

While we were in Dallas we went to the Dallas aquarium; it was really fun to see all the animals they had there. There were not only fish but also penguins, a 3 toed sloth, frogs, bats and bugs. I had a good time and so did Blane but Wayne just slept the whole visit and only woke up to eat.

We ate a lot of BBQ while in Texas, I think Daddy watches Food Channel too much because we had to try all the BBQ places that had been mentioned on TV. We also drove by the new Cowboys Stadium, and boy is it big!

While we were in Dallas Nanny drove in from Oklahoma to visit too. At first I didn't remember her too well and wasn't sure if I wanted to play with her but then Mommy reminded me that she's the one who sends the cool toys and we played a lot.

We had a nice visit and I was pretty good on the flight. Mommy and Daddy said next trip I have to have my own seat. I think that sounds good to me because I don't really like sharing anyway.

Tiger Town

This weekend Mommy and Daddy all but abondonded me; they said it was for a good cause, The LSU Tigers came to Seattle!

On Friday night I hung out with my babysitter Amy so Mommy and Daddy could go cut a rug at the Zydeco Kickoff Party in Seattle with G, Boogs, Randi and Jon. Mommy and Daddy said they had a lot of fun and loved that Horace Trahan played his "Big Butted Woman" song.

On Saturday Mommy and Daddy again left me with the babysitter to go tailgating and to watch the LSU Tigers play the UW Huskies. It was a good game; I watched a bit on TV as per Mommy's request. Mommy and Daddy said they had fun but didn't enjoy sitting with all the UW season ticket holders and thought they might get in trouble for cheering too much.

We spent Sunday at G and Papa Boog's house relishing in the victory and had dinner with Randi and Jon before they went back to Texas and Louisiana. It was a fun weekend but I hope I get to go to the next football game Mommy and Daddy attend because I'd make a great cheerleader.

My First Week of School

Last week was my first week at school (well, Mommy and Daddy call it daycare, but I'm learning so much, I'm calling it school). It's a bit scary each morning, so I make Mommy or Daddy stay with me until I get used to the chaos, then they "sneak" out of the room (I let them think that I don't see them, it makes them feel appreciated).

Below you'll find some pictures that Dad has taken in the mornings. Next week, it's all Daddy dropping me off as Mommy is going to be going to work before I wake up. I'll miss her, but she'll pick me up in the afternoons, which will be nice.

All Things New

Over the summer I've discovered a few new tricks as ways to get what I want. Mommy's been teaching me some baby signs so now I can let her know when I'm hungry or when I want more of something. I also have a sign for Cisco and for duck. Mommy and Daddy think signing is a great alternative to screaming. (Don't tell them but I enjoy the screaming since it makes them move faster.)

I've been working on my walking and dance moves, my latest dance moves are hip wiggles and turning circles until I get dizzy and fall to the ground. I'm pretty good at walking except sometimes walls and corners jump out at me. I don't like that too much. Mommy says if I keep it up I'm going to have to wear a helmet, I hope she's joking.

Monday morning I start school. I think I'm excited to hang out with a whole new group of friends. Mommy is a bit apprehensive but feels like it will be good for me to socialize with kids my own age. Mommy and I went to visit and play with the kids the other day and were a bit overwhelmed at how well they all played and how coordinated some of the kids are.

School of Hard Knocks

Today was a rather dreary day here in Seattle and so for some afternoon excitement Mommy and Daddy took me to the indoor playground at the mall. I guess a lot of other parents had the same idea because the playground was busy!

Needless to say I got a quick lesson in playground etiquette which is the bigger or faster kid has the right away. I got my first bump on the head when I was plowed down but another little boy on the playground. Daddy was "lucky" enough to catch it on video. This video is not for the lighthearted so prepare yourself for some hard hitting action before viewing.

I did enjoy the playground and my battle scar isn't too bad, and of course I now have a healthy respect for bigger and faster kids.
